The hotel offers great rooms that are peaceful but a bit small, and the location is ideal for exploring the surrounding countryside. The dining experience is a mix of brilliant choices and areas for improvement. The service is top-notch, though housekeeping could be more proactive.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms are great and very peaceful, but the TV on top of the wardrobe made it difficult to watch. They took ages to warm up, which was a bit inconvenient. The size of the room was tiny and didn't offer good value for the money.
Service
8.0
The service provided was excellent overall, with friendly staff. However, housekeeping could be more attentive to detail.
Location
9.0
The location is perfect for touring and visiting nearby attractions like Hay on Wye and South Wales. It offers stunning views and a very quiet environment, ideal for a relaxing stay.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience was a mix of brilliant service and areas for improvement. The complimentary coffee, water, and hot chocolate were a nice touch, but upgrading to espresso coffee could enhance the experience. The availability of croissants or artisan bread would be preferable over processed options.
Facilities
9.0
The hotel offers a variety of facilities to enhance your stay, making it a convenient choice for a relaxing vacation.

6.4/10

My daughter and I had a cozy stay at this hotel. The rooms were tidy and clean, though a bit on the small size for us. The restaurant was well-appointed with all the usual facilities and always clean.

Rooms

The rooms were tidy and clean, maybe a bit small.
Service
7.0
The housekeeping service was efficient.
Location
6.0
The location was ideal, really close to neighboring villages and easy access to pubs/restaurants. It was a bit spoiled by the shower problems and the tiny room size.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was a little disappointing for such nice surroundings. The breakfast included fruit salad, cereals, toast, and a cooked full Welsh, but lacked variety with jam and honey in plastic packaging.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities were basic but functional.

The hotel had a few issues with the room being cold upon arrival and not having the expected double bed, but the spacious room with a feature window overlooking the grounds and the pond was beautifully done. The service was generally good, although housekeeping could have been better. Dining was a mixed experience with some nice aspects but also room for improvement. Overall, the hotel offers a unique and charming stay, especially for those attending events nearby.

Rooms
7.0
The room was very cold and could have been warmed prior to our arrival. Unfortunately, we did not have the double bed we expected, but the room was beautifully done with a feature window overlooking the grounds and the pond.
Service
7.0
The service was generally good, but I felt that the housekeeping could have been more attentive.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location was stunningly beautiful and quiet, making it a peaceful stay. However, it may be challenging to spot for guests unfamiliar with the area, especially at night.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience had its positives, but there were also aspects that could be improved. The food was nice, but the options were limited. I appreciated the ability to grab something to take away.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel offered pleasant facilities, but there is room to enhance the overall guest experience.
